10:45am Adopting the SMART Recovery's Life Skills Curriculum. Meet Brad Glaser, CPSS, and Robin Thompson DrPH, MPH, explain the major components of the 12 session Successful Life Skills curriculum, and its findings and successes for residents of Recovery Homes.
10:45am Oxford House Update. Join Kameron Williams of the Oxford House of Toledo to describe the latest practices in behavior change and why it is essential for a successful democratically run, self-supporting recovery home.
10:45am Landlord Tenant Law Update #1. Join Joe Maskovyak, Affordable and Fair Housing Coordinator, Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio, on Basic Tenant, Landlord, Residential Premises definitions, Rental Agreement definition and requirements, Duties and Rights of Landlords and Tenants, and Rooming Houses.

1:30pm Partners in Recovery: Recovery Community Organizations and RH. Join Jon (Cathy’s House Inc) and Stephanie Robinson (Hope Recovery Community) and learn how a Recovery Community Org and a recovery house can team up to add value to each other.
1:30pm Recovery Advocacy 101. See Katie Jo Breidenbach Wooding, BA, Director of Policy and Advocacy, Ohio Citizen Advocates for Addiction Recovery, and learn the processes for lobbying, and the differences between advocacy and lobbying.
2:45pm Building Relationships with Your County Board. Join April J. Caraway, Executive Director, Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, and others as they discuss how a recovery house can develop a productive association with their County Board.
4:00pm Strategies in Handling MAT, Prescriptions and OTC Drugs in a Recovery House. See Erin Helms, MA (Addiction Counseling), Certified Peer Supervisor, Executive Director, The Woodrow Project, and recognize stigma associated with MAT and the barriers people face, learn how to support residents who are prescribed MAT, and how to obtain resources and tools for managing MAT and over the counter medications.

See Dr. Patrice Palmer, DD, LSW, MSW, CMHC, NASW 2022 Social Worker of the Year, and discover “Self-Care” through the lens of self-awareness and a place called balance, how to avoid burnout by understanding triggers and setbacks, and incorporating self-care techniques.

1:30pm Equality and Equity in RH for LGBTQ+. See Tony Correa, CDCA 11, and learn the social determinants and stereotypes of the LGBTQ+ Community, and how to create an atmosphere of recovery within a supportive recovery home.
1:30pm Language of Recovery in RH. Join Stephanie Robinson, Executive Director, Hope Recovery Community, and understand Substance Use Disorders as a disease, and the impact of stigma and stigmatizing language with individuals with SUDs.
2:45pm Best Practices in Crisis Response. Meet Vincent Sabino, MSW, MBA, LISW-CS, LICDC-CS, RI International State Director for Ohio, and learn the Three Core Tenants of Crisis, the Four Pillars of the RI Way, and how Peer Supporters are used in the continuum of Crisis Services.

4:00pm Trauma Informed Care in RH. Meet Ginger Schmalenberg, Executive Director, Athens Mental Health Inc., dba The Gathering Place, and explore key aspects of trauma-informed practice in service settings and its effects to create healing-centered relationships and environments.
